OPEN SPACE COMMISSION MEETING
Friday, May 9, 2013
1. Call to order/welcome:
Chairperson Diana Atwood Johnson, called to order the meeting at 9am. Members Attending: Diana Atwood Johnson, George James, Ted Kiritsis, Evan Griswold, Peter Cable, Bill Dunbar, Kurt Zemba, Amanda Blair.
Absent: Bruce Baratz
Guest: Selectperson Mary Jo Nosal
2. Voting Alternates: None
3. Approval Of Minutes: no minutes taken for the March Meeting. A request was made of Selectperson Nosal to look into a replacement for Secretary Stacy Pamplin.
4. Old Business: Kus Appraisal/Vote:
Discussion re Appraisers and cost of appraisals.
Motion made by Kurt Zemba, seconded by Bill Dunbar, concerning the Kus property, to “Agree to continue negotiations in order to confirm the definition of the property offered and to acquire a proposal for a yellow book appraisal from a qualified Appraiser.” All in favor. Motion passed.
5. Other Old Business:
Signage Project: There are now new signs posted on Ames, Bartholomew, Champlain North and South. There is a sign torn off on the Evergreen Trail.
Discussion re trail markers, trail maps and cleanup on the trails.
6. Correspondence: Susan Colton-Carey
Letter concerning too much clearing of logs, etc. on the Ames Property.
